1815 Farmhouse
Most advice for this renewal, construction and renovation was: “Rent a bulldozer” But the 8 foot by 9 foot 2-sided fireplace built from Limestone quarried on the property was too inspiring to ignore. The wood peg construction and original floors were too lovely to demolish. Reimagining the porch as a foyer, adding a primary suite to the footprint to balance the home, and configuring baths and kitchen for character and function were the initial concepts in her plan. Using meticulously sourced, reclaimed materials to honor the old as well as partnering with craftsmen in keeping with the almost impossible high standards of yesteryear construction were priorities to Sherri on this labor of love.
